The daughter of Danish immigrants, I was born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. I have recently moved back  to my ancestral lands in Denmark and am enjoying painting the mysteries of light in this country.  In previous years I have studied under Kenn Backhaus, a recognized American painter.  My style is contemporary impressionism, focusing on colour harmony and expressive shapes that engage the viewer with an abstracted vision.

Ever inspired by the beauty of light, I usually paint in oils, enjoying the luminosity afforded by this medium. We all see the same scene, yet the way we perceive  and interpret visual information is very individual.  It is a reflection of the experiences we bring to the relationship between colour, light, time and space.   I enjoy scenes  from everyday life, and explore colour and radiant light, capturing and preserving on canvas those shimmering instants in time that remind us we are always surrounded by magic.
