I am Rami Safadi, born and raised in Lebanon.
Art has always been my great passion of mine. Ever since I was a child I could draw and paint. My school desk and books were filled with little drawings.
In 2001, when I came to Denmark, I met a group of artists from Frederikshavn, and got the urge to paint again. Support was great, and I got the opportunity to join various exhibitions. I quickly found out, that there was something inside me passionate about art, and that this was what I needed to spend my time on.
Since then, I have been painting and studying other artists' works and learning about different techniques.
In 2004, I met my wife Charlotte, and with her support, I opened my studio, and got my education as a chef.
Being a chef enriched me with creativity and taught me to use my senses in everything I do. But even though the chef's world was fascinating, it was clearly the art that has driven me the most.
Creating a story that others can be touched by is what drives me to experiment and chase new methods and ideas.
Today I work as an art painter, and educator assistant. I paint portraits of famous people, and although people have always interested me, it's the process I'm after when I work and communicate with colors. And the thought of that person when I listen to the music or the story behind it, arouses the desire in me to create something completely original.
Most often I paint oil on canvas with a classic structure where you build the painting layer by layer and let the brush freely find its way until I achieve my unique style.
Hope you will appreciate my art and I look forward to showing my works to you.
