Profile: Annette Balsgaard

I have drawn and painted over many years. I usually work with acrylic on canvas and work with many layers that give a fabric quality.

My inspiration comes from many different places and moods. In my abstract paintings I am especially inspired by nature, like lines in nature, colors and structures.

In my paintings I depict the different expressions nature holds, from calm to violence and dynamism. I find the imperfect and quirky to be the most interesting, both in nature and among people. With my paintings I want to create inspiration and energy.
