«Butcher wants my art to enrich on an emotional and sensory level, as well as stimulate or encourage aesthetic and personal decision-making and reflection. »

Has worked with visual arts for 25 years, in painting and as a sculptor in clay.

Has been exhibited at the two state-censored exhibitions KS Janus Bygningen and KP Kunsthal Aarhus in 2020 with a total of six accepted sculptures.
Exhibitions nationally, but has also exhibited in South Carolina USA and in Frigiliana Spain.

Through her works, Butcher explores human interaction with each other based on the feelings our various relationships give us. She works with the respect to deliver art that has a personal point of departure.

The figurative elements in the paintings are presented at once, via tight control and with a penchant for letting the subconscious be the supporting element that leaves a colouristic, expressive and organic expression.
In this way, the works open up the viewer's own interpretations of impressions, and become relevant for those who want to immerse themselves and look inward at the processes of their own lives.

QUOTE:
I was very attracted to visual arts and other creative expressions as a child and very young.
I also imagined how the people who had created and produced a given work I was attracted to, they were as persons. How they lived and arranged their lives so that it was possible for them to create and live from their art. I was drawn in and had a fascination with the process itself. I knew I wanted to find my own path towards working with art as a profession one day.
Basically, I am interested in people's interactions with each other based on the feelings different relationships and life conditions give us. My color choices and the stories that are painted into the paintings should support the message in the work and at the same time stimulate an aesthetic experience for the viewer.

Artist Susanne Hoeg Butcher b 1966 in Haderslev.
Lived in Canada in 1970-72
Lived in the USA in 1984-85
Qualified pedagogue from Åbenrå Seminary in 1992
Educator and manager of the Aesthetic visual arts workshop at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center in Risskov from 2000 to 2008
Self-employed cvr registered artist with studio practice since 2008
Graduated in aesthetic pedagogy at VIA University College, Aarhus in 2008, including study stay in New York
Has exhibited at several solo and group exhibitions, as well as sold to many homes and businesses in Denmark, and to private customers in England and Germany
Has supplied art for prop setup on the TV series 2900 Happiness in 2008 and 2009
