Kathrine Stone is a Copenhagen-based artist whose work explores the small, often overlooked moments of everyday life.
Her colourful, semi-abstract paintings are characterised by skewed figures, unexpected proportions, large fields of colour and a subtle sense of humour.
Kathrine is drawn to the slightly awkward, quiet and familiar moments: the everyday scenes that are easy to pass by, yet hold something worth noticing.
As a mother of two young children, she paints in the small pockets of time within everyday life - sometimes late at night, sometimes with a child painting beside her, and occasionally with a baby in one arm and a paintbrush in the other.
Her work is about finding something warm, humorous and recognisable in ordinary life.
